Alamo ALA and Our Community - 2004
ALA's Community Challenge Weekend is an annual volunteer community service oriented outing in which members may participate.
Members of the Alamo Chapter assisted Junior Achievement the weekend of October 15th, 2004, during their annual bowl-a-thon. Our members helped with registration, directed bowlers to lanes, and assisted the children with stick-on temporary tattoos.
Since 1919, Junior Achievement's purpose has been to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise and understand business and economics to improve the quality of their lives. Junior Achievement is the world's largest and fastest-growing non-profit economic education organization. Their programs are taught by classroom volunteers from the business community in areas across America and in over 103 countries worldwide. It is clear from the enthusiasm of its employees that Junior Achievement is dedicated to providing children the skills they will need to be our future leaders.
A special thanks to the Alamo Chapter members who volunteered their time over the weekend: Lynn Ganschinietz, Gary and Jo Ann Hottle and their son Ryan, Cindy Gonzales, Faye Craig, Joyce Jack, Jo Ann Loux, Linda McFadden, Nancy McClaran and her daughter Aubree, Donna Baggs and Mary Vidaurri.
